Are You Ready for More Cat Pictures?

No? Well, too bad, 'cause that's what you're going to get.

But first, I apologize for the long wait for a new post. There doesn't seem to be enough time in the day lately...

I hope kittie pictures are well worth the wait!

She's now the queen of the castle, although she still has wild swings between being a little 'fraidy cat and a fearsome huntress, intent on bagging our ankles. Above, she appears to be contemplating making the acquaintance of our resident Ugly Dolls, Ox and Moxy. As you can see, she decided to do so!

Don't be fooled by the innocent expression, though. This gal is dynamite. Just look at THIS evidence: Mifune v. the catnip mouse on a string:

The Approach

The Thwack

The Return

Oh, she goes nuts on the catnip mouse. Don't ask me to confess the amusement I experienced when she made herself dizzy chasing it around in a circle. Yes, I laughed. But I felt bad about it later.

After a long day of playing and, lately, sneaking her tiny (but growing!) self into the Christmas tree (NOTHING keeps her out of it!!), she does what all kitties do: Snooze.

I promise my next post will be about something other than Mifune, but she's such a hoot (to us, at least)!

Kitty pictures are always worth the wait and these were especially worthwhile! She's a doll!

Thanks! She's a honey kitty, huh?

She's discovered that lying on TOP of the bed is much comfier than hiding beneath the bed... but that means that she makes great sport of attacking our toes! Ow!

Beautiful girl you have there!

A piece of advice about keeping cats out of Christmas trees: Buy a bicycle horn and honk it at her when she messes with the tree. That's what worked for Doogie, who was quite the climber when he was a kitten. Two honks and he's never touched a Christmas tree since. (This is his 10th Christmas with us.)

Thanks for the hint! I'm going to have to try that.

So far, she's been relatively good. When I reach for the spray bottle, she backs away from the tree. But I like the horn idea a lot!

Just be glad she responds to a spray bottle. Doogie is dumb. Sweet, charming little guy with a very sunny disposition, but he's dumb as a rock. A spray bottle didn't work on him because he just didn't understand. The horn was an accidental discovery. Thankfully, his fear of loud things worked in our favor!
